Hi everyone. My name is Lauren, and I am the creator of Fast-Paced Travel. As an avid traveller, I have wanted to start my own travel blog for a long time and, in 2025, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and press ‘publish’ on this first post.
We’ll get to the travel tips soon enough but, for this first post, I thought I’d take the opportunity to introduce myself and let you know some of my plans for this blog going forward. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

A Bit About Me
Travel has been an important part of my life since early childhood. My parents always took my sister and I on two foreign holidays a year: one to Disneyland Paris and another to Mallorca. This was the pattern we followed for many years, until 2009, when we first visited Walt Disney World in Florida.
My love of all things Disney had been nurtured almost since birth with my parents showing me the films and taking me to Paris every year, but that love grew exponentially following my first trip to Florida. My wide-eyed 10-year-old self truly experienced the Disney magic those two weeks, cementing my passion in particular for the Disney Parks, which remains stronger than ever to this day. As I’ve grown older, that passion has developed into a keen interest in the history and lore of the Disney Parks, something which I will definitely be sharing on this blog.
The other key turning point in my traveler journey came in 2018, when I went on my first city break to Seville. My parents booked the trip as a Christmas present because I was about to start my degree in Spanish. Little did they know that this one trip would result in numerous city-break adventures across Europe together over the past six years. Let’s be honest, they couldn’t have chosen a better first city. Since that trip, I’ve told everyone I know that Seville is the best city to visit in Europe and my recent visit to Andalusia (posts coming about that trip soon) only cemented that view. So, what do I love about city breaks? Mainly the architecture and discovering the history of the place I’m visiting.
Since 2018, my yearly travel plans have consisted of three main types of trip: European city breaks, a trip to Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World, and a beach holiday in Northern Spain. Very different holidays, but I love them all, and I’ll be sharing information about all of them on this blog.

Why Fast-Paced Travel?
One of the main things that stopped me from setting up this blog earlier was deciding on a name. I didn’t necessarily want to use my name, and it felt like all of the travel-related words and phrases had already been taken.
So, I got to thinking: what is it that makes my trips different? And I realised that, most of the time, with the exception of Walt Disney World, my trips are just 2-3 nights long. In fact, it’s been a long-running joke in our family that we run around a city like headless chickens trying to see everything in just two days when most ‘sane’ people would take a week to complete the same itinerary. While there is some exaggeration to that statement, it is true that we always try to make the most of our trips, packing in as much as possible in the short time we are there.
That is mainly due to time constraints. While I am a freelancer and have a certain amount of flexibility with my schedule, my family (who I usually travel with) have 9-5 jobs with the standard 30-35 days of holiday a year. So, we often travel just for the weekend, booking a Friday night and Sunday night flight and making the most of our free time to travel without taking days off work. So, through this blog, I hope to show you that, if you’re willing to travel at a fast pace, you can become a frequent traveller while working full time.
And that was how the name Fast-Paced Travel was born. Once I thought of this name, I realised that it also reflects my intended writing style for this blog. I don’t know about you, but when I’m planning my trips, I get so frustrated at how buried some of the information is within extremely long website pages and blog posts. Sometimes, I have to scroll through thousands of words of overly lengthy descriptions just to find the price of a ticket to get into a cathedral.
That won’t be the case on this blog. One of my aims for Fast-Paced Travel is to provide detailed information that can be easily extracted for use in your own travel plans. What I mean by this is that I’ll make ample use of key information boxes and try to not wax too lyrical about my favourite places (no promises, though, I do have a tendency to ramble on a bit).

What Will This Blog Be About?
Currently, I plan to talk about two main topics on this blog.
1. City Breaks
I love planning city breaks almost as much as I love taking them, and I want to use this space to share my top travel tips and tricks for all the destinations I’ve visited so far. Whether you want to find out about the must-see attractions, how to get around the city or how to effectively plan your own fast-paced trip, I’ll be sharing all the information you need to make your next city break adventure the best it can be.
2. Disney Parks Tips
Nowadays, it sometimes feels like you need a degree to navigate all the systems guests need to use to have a successful Walt Disney World or Disneyland Paris trip. But, don’t worry: I’m here to help. I’m a self-professed Disney expert who has spent hours reading and watching videos to get to the nitty-gritty of these often complicated systems so that you don’t have to. So, if you’re planning a Disney trip anytime soon, stay tuned for all the tips and tricks including where to stay, where to eat, how to make the most of your day, how to use the many skip-the-line upgrade options and so much more. And, if you’re a Disney history fan like me, you can also expect some cool history and secrets posts about your favourite parks and attractions.
I’m sure I will expand my ideas and add more travel-related topics as I grow the blog but, for now, these are the topics you can expect to find me covering over here. I aim to post once a week, so don’t forget to check back here soon for new content.
That’s about it for today. If you made it to the end of this post, thank you, and I hope you’ll stick around for more travel content coming soon.
In the meantime, you can also follow my travel adventures in real time over on my new Instagram page, @fastpacedtravel. And, if you like the sound of the topics I’ll be posting about, make sure to click the button below to follow the blog and get notified every time I upload a new post.
Thanks for reading, and see you next time.
